New Jersey interactive maps include (all should open in new
windows):
- The Site Evaluator 2.0 (formerly the Site
Evaluator and previously known as the Location Assessment Tool and Smart
Growth Locator) under the Taking Care of
Business New Jersey Business Portal. This is the newly improved Smart
Growth Locator done with Open Layers. Replaces the old NJHMFA Smart Growth
Locator. Do your Smart Growth Lookups here.
- NJ Parcels
is a fantastic way to explore New Jersey property records and includes maps
and multiple aerial views. New Jersey parcel data will never be the same.
- A very useful Google Maps implementation of a Smart
Growth Locator at NJStateAtlas.com. Great roads, and
includes municipal boundaries. Address lookups are available,
look down at the lower right. And the site just keeps getting
better; it now contains at least five interactive maps.
- The Highlands Council has an Interactive Map
which includes a property lookup. You'll have to click through a
permissions screen.
- The Meadowlands Commission (formerly the Hackensack
Meadowlands Development Commission), has its Municipal
Map - Version 2 (formerly known as the NJMC master map).
- NJDEP has a three interactive mapping applications:
- NJGeoWeb
- DEP's nextgen mapping application
- iMap -
Previous generation mapping application, still being updated
- iMap
Geology - explore New Jersey's geology
- One of New Jersey's Brownfields programs (yes, it has at least
three) has a lookup
tool (formerly called NJSiteMart.)
- Our State universities are doing some great stuff online such
as:
- Rowan University's GeoLab (RUGL - ?) projects page
features some great interactive maps.
- Rutger's Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis
(CRSSA) list of
interactive projects just scratch the surface since
CRSSA is New Jersey's mapping granddaddy.
- The Asbury Park Press's Datauniverse tools, while not
interactive maps, contain huge amounts of data about New Jersey
including recent property assessments and sales:
